The roofer who tells you to wait a year if that’s the honest call.
Flatiron is a Denver-area roofing outfit run by Marco Alvarez, a twenty-year tradesman who got tired of chain roofers pushing tear-offs that didn’t need doing. Every quote is walked by Marco. Every step is photographed. Every job ends with a magnetic sweep for nails.
Post-hailstorm? We’ll document damage and work the insurance claim with you at no charge.
Eight things.
Done properly.
We don’t subcontract and we don’t chase storms outside the Front Range. A tighter service list means the crew walking your roof has installed it hundreds of times, not twice.
- 01
Asphalt shingle replacement
GAF Timberline HDZ, Owens Corning Duration, CertainTeed Landmark. Full tear-off, synthetic underlayment, ice-and-water shield to code. Class 4 impact-rated shingles for hail-country homeowners who’d rather pay once.
- 02
Standing-seam metal
24-gauge Galvalume in a handful of Kynar colors. Concealed-clip, thermally-decoupled panels. Matches the mountain-modern builds going up around Boulder without looking like a warehouse.
- 03
Concrete & clay tile
Re-roof and repair for tile homes in the older Denver neighborhoods. We salvage what’s serviceable, source matching replacements, and flash properly so you aren’t paying for it twice.
- 04
TPO & EPDM flat roofs
Light commercial, duplex, and flat-section residential. Heat-welded seams, proper slope correction, warrantied membranes from manufacturers we’ll actually see again.
- 05
Storm damage & insurance claims
Post-hail inspection with full photo report for your adjuster. We’ve run hundreds of supplements. You pay your deductible; we handle the paper.
- 06
Gutters, skylights, tarp service
Seamless 5″ and 6″ aluminum, Velux skylight install and re-flash, and 24-hour emergency tarp if a branch went through overnight. Call the main line.
Six steps, documented end to end.
We run jobs the way a good contractor would run his own house. The photo record is how we prove it, not a sales prop.
- i.
The walk
Marco climbs your roof. Not a salesperson. He shoots photos of every slope, flashing, valley, and penetration and emails them to you with notes. If the roof has life left, you’ll hear that first.
- ii.
The quote
One written bid, itemized. Shingle, underlayment, ice-and-water, ridge vent, drip edge, flashings, disposal, labor. No bundle math. No “if you sign today.” Good for thirty days.
- iii.
The permit
We pull it. Your municipality, your HOA if there is one, manufacturer registration for the warranty. You don’t chase paper.
- iv.
The tear-off
One or two days depending on pitch and square footage. Tarps on landscaping. Dump trailer out by the curb, never on the lawn.
- v.
The install
Documented as it happens. Underlayment photos before shingles go down. Nail pattern photos per slope. If a board is rotten we show you before we replace it.
- vi.
The sweep
Magnetic roller across the lawn, driveway, and street-side twice. Final photo set for your records and for the manufacturer’s warranty registration.
Two customers, in their own words.
“Marco walked my entire roof, showed me photos, and told me I could wait another year.”
Every other guy tried to sell me a $35,000 replacement. A year later the hail actually did total it and we called Flatiron first.
“Clean job, showed up when they said, finished on time.”
They swept the yard with a magnet twice. I’ve had other trades leave screws in my driveway for a year. These guys don’t.
Marco Alvarez.
Sheathing installer at nineteen.
Licensed roofer at thirty.
Flatiron was founded by Marco in 2014 in Lafayette, Colorado. He grew up in the trades. His dad ran a drywall crew. He spent his twenties as a sheathing installer and framer before getting his roofing license, and he started Flatiron because he was tired of seeing chain roofers push sales over craft.
Every job gets documented. Every customer gets a straight answer. Every roof gets walked by Marco himself before the quote goes out. That’s the whole pitch.
Today Flatiron runs four crews across the Denver metro and Front Range. GAF Master Elite (top 2% of US roofers), Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, CertainTeed ShingleMaster. Two million liability, full workers’ comp. We pull our own permits. We clean up magnetically for nails.
“We will tell you if your roof doesn’t need replacement. We don’t do commissioned sales.”
Free inspection.
Honest answer on the other side.
Call or email. Marco schedules inspections in the mornings, quoting walks in the afternoons, and returns messages the same day. Hail-damaged? Mention it — we bring the full documentation kit for your claim.
